If you want a Fire Emblem entry that has both decent writing and gameplay, but doesn’t cost $200 like Path of Radiance, I would recommend either Echoes or Blazing Blade (called “Fire Emblem” outside of Japan). Even when this happens, Fire Emblem games at least have decent supports for character development, but this game the supports are so hard to obtain, and when you do, they tend to be poorly written and lack any sort of personality. In regards to the 70 playable characters, only 10 actually matter at all to the story.
